We’ve released new Cortex features to help streamline your deployment workflows. We just released version 3.2.2 for Fleet, 2.15.10 for the Cortex Player, and 2.9.0 for the Watchdog.
Previously, you had to login to Fleet every time you wanted to deploy a strategy to your networks. Now we've given you the ability to schedule your deployments. On the 'Deploy Strategy' page you will see two options 'Deploy Immediately' or the ability to choose a date and time. Scheduled deployments will respect the player's local time and you can view all scheduled deployments in the 'Scheduled Deployments' page. This is just our first version, stay tuned for additional improvements!
We've added the ability to bulk register devices from Fleet! You no longer need to rely on us, and can register your devices whenever your heart desires. Once you've downloaded the template, you can fill out the fields and upload it into Fleet. In addition to the typical registration fields (e.g. name, network, tags), we've also added an optional column for venue_id. If there are any errors, you will be able to view them in Fleet after you upload.
Support Longer App Durations
We've removed app duration limits so you can deploy strategies that contain applications and content with as long a duration as you want.
Have you ever wished for the ability to replicate any production device in your office? You now have the ability to do that! We've added a parameter to the Vistar Ads App, vistar.always_expire, that will always hit the expiry URL instead of sending Proof of Play. By using this parameter, you can set up a test device that replicates any of your devices out in the field.
Overriding / Reverting to Network Level Flags
We recently released the ability the configure Network and Device level flags in Fleet. As an improvement we've added the ability to revert back to Network level flags. By default, a Device inherits the Network level flags and the Device level flags are disabled. If you wish to set Device level flags, you can check the 'Override network flags with device flags' checkbox. However, if you uncheck the checkbox it will ignore any Device level settings that were set and revert back to the Network level flags.
You can now take device screenshots on your ChromeOS devices!
We released a new watchdog version. On Windows, it makes sure the player window is sized and positioned correctly.
