This week's update covers versions 3.53 (released last week) and 3.54 (released today). We released our inventory management tool for media owners, and made some minor UI improvements.
Over the past few months, we have been working on a tool to help media owners respond to RFPs faster, manage their inventory availability, and ultimately maximize revenue. Even if you are just using Vistar for incremental exchange revenue, we believe our inventory management tool can help you save time in your sales process. Check it out by clicking the “Inventory” tab in the Vistar dashboard, and create a new proposal to get started. All of your inventory should already be there!
Here are a few of the big features:
Powerful Mapping and Filtering
Instantly find, plot, and/or export your units based on DMA, zip code, neighborhood, proximity to points of interest, and more
Create interactive maps that can be shared with clients
Track Inventory Availability
Create proposals to reserve inventory
Quickly see the inventory that is most in demand
Recently, we added a large list of points of interest (e.g. Movie Theaters, Starbucks, etc.) to the inventory tool. You can use these to filter down your inventory based on its proximity to these points. We will be adding more over time, as well as the ability to upload your own custom sets.
Point Radius Submission Validation
Previously the dashboard had no explicit limit on how many point radius records users were able to submit to targeting. Now the dashboard has a validation step that alerts the user that the system is unable to process point radius or zip code submission in excess of 100 items. If such a request is submitted, the dashboard will return the following error:
In cases where 100+ point radii or zip codes are needed for targeting, please contact email@example.com.
Creative Approval Module Clean-up
There are a few networks that we have onboarded that are not currently open to serving ads on the exchange. These networks are now no longer visible in both the creative approval module and in planning.
Planning Venue Export in Self-service Client Accounts
Self-service clients will now have the option to export venue-level details directly from planning. Planning will include an "Export Venue CSV" option in addition to “Export to CSV” that will return the following fields about the qualifying locations:
